National Parks

Our 43 national parks and preserves offer glimpses of rare, untouched wilderness. In Prince Albert National Park, loon calls tumbled across the water one summer as I paddled a canoe along a million-year-old lake. In Banff or Jasper, hikers climb mountainsides to discover wildflower- strewn alpine meadows. Kayakers float along cool, swift-flowing rivers in Pukaskwa National Park on Lake Superiors wild north shore and La Mauricie National Park in Qubec. Walkers stroll Maritime beaches, salty- damp from morning tides, at New Brunswicks l(ouchibouguac National Park. Our national parks encompass ancient glaciers, hot springs, cedar rainforests, wild grasslands, craggy mountains, and fog-shrouded islands. For park locations see map on page 4.
